Rogue Gambits
Rogue Gambits is a skill that gives you the ability to perform different tricks, such as tumbles, flips, and cartwheels, and also gives you certain useful utility skills, such as sleight of hand, and the ability to make certain movements while hidden, without being detected. This skill is definately the easiest to train in, and many people train in it early on simply to become guildmasters more quickly.
Armor has an effect on Rogue Gambits, just like most of the other guild skills. The heavier the armor you are wearing, the harder it is to succeed. Also, being encumbered has an effect on your RT, so you will want to be sure that you are not overweight. Encumbrance can also make you fail a gambit altogether.
Rogue Gambits Training
The tasks for this skill are: Speed, learning from a fellow member, teaching a fellow member, practicing in front of an audience, and skilled masters. All the tasks give random training points and exp, within a certain margin.
Speed- With this task, you must successfully perform the current skill you are working on 4-11 times in one minute (You start off at 4-5, but the margin raises as you gain more ranks.). After your first success, it will tell you how many you must perform in the next minute. If you perform them all in less than a minute, you get a rep. This task is pretty simple for the first 49 ranks, but gets more difficult when you need to hide each time to do the stealth skills. This task gives you 4-7 training points.
Learning from a fellow member- In order to get reps with this task, you just need to find someone who knows the skill you are working on, and have them teach it to you. When they teach you, it will give you some RT, and once the RT is over, you must perform the skill to get the rep. This task gives 8-12 training points.
Teaching a fellow member- This task is pretty simple. All you have to do is teach someone any Rogue Gambit skill and then they must perform it once the RT wears off; the skill you teach does not matter, so even tumble will work. The command for teaching a skill is "rgambit teach (person) (skill #)". To get a list of the skill numbers, type "rgambit teach list". The nice thing about this task, is if there is someone that needs to be taught, as long as you know the skill they are working on, you can teach them that skill, and both of you will get reps from it. If you are teaching a person who is working on speed reps for that skill, they will have to get a rep after you teach them, before you will get your rep. This task gives 6-10 training points.
Practicing in front of an audience- For this task, you need to perform the skill you are working on in front of an audience. For the first 49 ranks, you need to do it in front of at least 2 people - guild members or not. For the last ranks, you must perform it in front of at least 5 people, or two guildmasters (Or 1 guildmaster and 3 people). You can only get 1 rep every 30 seconds with this task, so you probably want grab a stop watch for it or use your mana timer. This task is not so bad at first, but it becomes a pain later on, because you get up to 18 reps of it. Dagger game can be a little tricky for this - The East Tower in Landing has a table, or you can try inns and see who might be sitting at tables that you can crash. This task gives 4-7 training points.
Skilled masters- This task is a breeze. You have perform the skill you are working on in front of a skilled master, and get a rep for each success. You get this task at the beginning of each rank when you learn a new skill, but it is also a random task received sometimes (Also, it will sometimes be given at the beginning of a rank, even if you aren't learning a new skill). This task gives 8-12 training points.

Below I will show what each skill does, and comment on any of their uses. To find out the commands to perform each skill, type "rgambit".
Tumble- "You tuck your chin towards your chest and fall to the ground in an elegant roll. You tumble smoothly and spring to your feet, ready for action!". All three of the tumble skills put you in a standing position, so they are a cool way to stand up. The smaller the race you are, the easier it is to succeed at tumbling.
Directional tumble- "You tuck your chin towards your chest and fall to the (left, right, forward, back) in an elegant roll. You tumble to the (left, right, forward, back) effortlessly and spring to your feet, ready for action!"
Multiple tumble- "You tuck your chin towards your chest and fall to the ground in a series of smooth tumbles - once, twice, three times! - and spring to your feet, ready for action!"
Cartwheel- "You perform a simple yet perfect cartwheel." You must have both hands empty and be standing, in order to perform a cartwheel.
Directional cartwheel- "You cartwheel to the (left, right, front, back) and land back on your feet with a grin."
Multiple cartwheel- "You perform a rapid series of cartwheels, ending with an impressive flip! You didn't even break a sweat."
Flip- "You flip expertly into the air and land with nary a sound." The three flips have no utility, but they are still one of my most favorite of the skills.
Directional flip- "You flip gracefully to the (left, right, front, back), hugging your knees for an instant before you meet the ground with silent feet."
Multiple flip- "You flip perfectly into the air, land, and perform two more flips in rapid succession. As you hit the ground a final time, you assume an alert stance, relaxed but ready for anything." Show off!
Dagger balance- "You easily place your dagger point-first on your finger and give it a little spin. As it twirls, you carefully "walk" it from finger to finger, before finally flipping it up and catching it deftly by the hilt." With this skill, as well as the other dagger skills, you must use a dagger based weapon, obviously.
Dagger toss- "You flip your dagger confidently into the air, where it spins several times before dropping smoothly back into your hand."
Dagger game- This skill is long, but very cool. Here's what it does when you do it:
"You place your hand on the wooden table, palm down and fingers splayed out as much as possible. Taking your dagger, you begin slowly and deliberately tapping the blade's point on the table in between your fingers.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
The point of your dagger finds a momentary home between each of your fingers as you begin to pick up the pace ever-so-slightly.
Tap, tap, tap, tap.
As you pick up speed, you begin to actually pay attention to what you are doing, and choose your dagger's placement with care.
Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap
Although still slow enough for the eye to follow, the tip of your dagger produces an increasingly rapid cadence against the surface of the wooden table as you make decisive little jabs in between each finger.
Tap-Tap-Tap-Tap-Tap
You maintain a moderate tempo for a few moments as you begin to vary the pattern of strikes at the table, greatly increasing the difficulty and the danger.
TapTapTapTapTapTap
Your dagger is starting to become difficult to follow as it leaps across your outstretched fingers to strike the table between them in unpredictable patterns, as the rhythm continues to steadily increase.
*TakataTakataTakata*
Your dagger dances across the tabletop in a frenzied cadence, sounding like an army of woodpeckers at work! Despite the speed with which the strikes fall, each one carries enough force to sever a finger, should your concentration lapse at any time.
*TakaTakaTakaTakaTaka*
You are starting to feel the strain of keeping up this impossible rhythm. Faster than the eye can follow, you jab your dagger into the table again and again, many times per second, aiming purely by instinct.
Finally, you flick your wrist, sending the dagger twirling into the air in a flashing blur, before easily snatching it out of the air with the hand which rested on the wooden table!"
You get 10 seconds of roundtime after each action (The tap tap taps). You must do this skill on a table or bar. It can be a pain to get audience reps with this skill. I would recommend going to a bar where there's people around, or use the table at the East Tower. Though table raiding can be pretty fun too!
Display hands- "You close your hand over a (item). You swiftly let it drop to your other hand before blowing harshly into your fist. You open your now empty hand and grin as you open your other hand, revealing the (item)." You must have an item in one hand, and the other empty, to do all the display skills.
Display ear- "Taking hold of your (item), you pretend to shove it into your ear while secretly transferring it to your other hand. With a smirk, you open your previously empty hand to display the (item)."
Display pocket- "You toss your (item) into the air. You clap your hands together for distraction as the (item) falls smoothly into your pouch. With a smirk, you pull the (item) out and display it proudly for all to see."
Display person- "You deftly swap your (item) from one hand to the other as you pretend to fling it in (person's) direction. (Person) reflexively reaches out to catch it, only to find air as you stand and chuckle, holding on to the (item)."
Get hands- "You swiftly take a (item) from your (container). You clap your hands together and open them to reveal the (item)." You can only get items in a container you are wearing with the Get skills.
Get mouth- "You grab the (item) from your (container) and cough to give the appearance of coughing up the (item)." This skill gives others the appearance that you are coughing up the item, obviously. I love to do it when giving someone herbs!
Get air- "You quickly remove a (item) from your (container) and snap your arm out, as if grabbing the (item) from thin air."
Get silent- "You remove a (item) from your (container) and feel confident that no one has noticed your doing so." This skill is pretty useful. When you succeed, no one sees you taking the item out.
Vanish hands- "You clasp your hand over a (item) and put it in your (container) without anyone noticing." This skill can be seen by others, but to them it looks as if you are putting your hand over the item, and then it disapears. To do the vanish skills, you must be holding the item, and type "rgambit vanish (skill) (item) in (container)".
Vanish mouth- "You pretend to swallow the (item) while secretly putting it into your (container)."
Vanish air- "You flick your wrist as if tossing your (item) into the air, but secretly put it into your (container)."
Vanish silent- "You secretly place your (item) into your (container)." This is the one thieves love. People can't see you putting the item away when you do it.
Stealth sit- "You manage to move to a sitting position while keeping your location hidden." You must perform all the stealth maneuvers when hidden. If you succeed, you remain hidden. I can't really think of a purpose for this first one, but hey, at least we can do it, hehe.
Stealth kneel- "You manage to move to a kneeling position while keeping your location hidden." This one is pretty useful for archers, if they want to kneel to shoot a crossbow. And heck, you can use it to ambush someone with a deep kiss!
Stealth stand- "You manage to move to a standing position while keeping your location hidden." This one is very useful. Say you get ewaved when stealthed, you no longer must unstealth to stand up again. This is also useful for crossbow users to stand after firing.
Stealth get- "You carefully take hold of the (item) while remaining in the shadows." You can use this to pull an item out of a container you are wearing if you want, but that's only good to know for getting reps, because you can take an item out without unhiding anyways. Its main use is to pick up something off the ground while hidden, and remain hidden. Another way to steal from people! Woohoo!
Stealth put- "You put a (item) into your (container), being careful not to reveal your location."
Divert - You now learn the Divert cman at mastery. CMAN DIVERT (Creature) (direction) to Lure a them to an adjacent room. If you omit the direction it will divert them to a random adjacent room.
